Your collection
Leafy & Me stores your plant names, plant types, room labels, light conditions, photos, care schedules, and history in its private storage on your device. Room labels are text you enter; Leafy & Me does not request your device’s geographic location. The app does not send your collection to us or a developer-operated server. This release does not synchronize your collection using CloudKit.
Your device’s own backups may include Leafy & Me’s app data according to your Apple backup settings. That system backup behavior is separate from in-app synchronization.
Permissions and reminders
Camera access is requested only when you choose Take Photo. You can select a photo with Apple’s system picker instead, use a bundled reference image, or keep no photo. Leafy & Me receives only the library items you select through the picker.
Notifications are optional. They are scheduled locally to remind you about care. Leafy & Me stores reminder preferences and occurrence identifiers locally to avoid repeating alerts. You can revoke camera permission and notifications in iOS Settings and continue using the app.
Retention and deletion
Your collection remains on your device until you delete it. Swipe a plant in the Plants list and confirm Delete Plant to remove its photo, rules, and history. Leafy & Me retains record identifiers and deletion dates to prevent deleted records from reappearing when older data is merged. These markers do not retain the deleted photo, plant name, or care history.
Deleting Leafy & Me removes its local app storage; offloading the app is different and can preserve that storage. Apple manages any device backups under your account’s settings. There is no separate Leafy & Me user account to delete.
Backups you export
Export Collection creates a JSON file containing your collection and photos. Leafy & Me does not encrypt this file. You choose its destination through Apple’s file interface, which may include cloud providers. Protect copies from unauthorized access and delete them separately from Files or the chosen destination. Deleting a plant or uninstalling Leafy & Me does not delete exported files.
Tracking and external pages
Leafy & Me includes no advertising, analytics SDKs, tracking, or automatic developer diagnostics. Its plant catalog and reference photos are bundled and work offline.
Opening support, policy, source, or license links opens a website outside Leafy & Me. The receiving site processes that visit under its own privacy practices; Leafy & Me does not send your collection with the link. If you email support, your email address, message, and any attachments are handled by the maintainer and email service providers to respond to your request; they are not automatically collected by the app. If you choose GitHub for support, the information you submit is handled by GitHub. Issues and any attachments are public. Review GitHub’s privacy statement before submitting personal information.
This website
This website contains no analytics, advertising, tracking scripts, contact forms, or embedded third-party content. Fonts use your device’s system fonts, and styles and images are served from this site. The site does not set cookies or use browser storage.
The hosting provider receives information needed to serve a page, such as your IP address and browser request details, and may retain server logs under its own practices. Following an external link, including GitHub support links, takes you to a separate website governed by that website’s privacy practices.

Do not post private photos, collection backups, passwords, or other sensitive information. A GitHub account is required only if you choose to create an issue.
Changes to this policy will appear on this page with an updated date. If a future version introduces sync or changes data handling, its policy and App Store disclosures will be reviewed before release.
